Our client is a residential children’s service who provide a stable, safe and nurturing environment to children and young people who require specialist care and support. The team make children at the centre of any decision-making, which includes their families, carers, professionals, and people important to the child or young person.
They are now looking to recruit Residential Support Workers who are passionate about making a positive impact on the lives of vulnerable young people using a therapeutic approach to reach the best outcomes for children.

What we need from you as a Residential Support Worker:
- Must be a driver with a clean driving licence
- You will be working in the Rugeley or Cheslyn Hay districts so you must be able to get there easily
- No experience necessary, however it is preferred, as you will be supporting vulnerable children with learning disabilities
- Enhanced DBS checks will be needed
Qualifications:
- No qualifications required but you must be willing to complete NVQ Level 4 in Residential Childcare – funded by our client on completion of probation
Tasks and Responsibilities:
- Act as a key worker and offer support to specific young people
- To help ensure that structure, boundaries and domestic routines are instilled in the home and the child feels safe and protected in a homely environment
- Ensuring that care plans as well as placement plans are adhered to
- Contributing within the team to ensure positive outcomes for the young people
- Adopt a therapeutic approach to supporting children to ensure emotional stability and enables positive attachments
- To work in line with regulations for Children’s homes and Quality Standards
- Maintain professionalism at all times and acting as a positive role model for the children
- Undertake any training which is required for the role to ensure safe and effective practice
- Complete and maintain administrative records and reports as required by the home
- Giving a young person the opportunity to partake in leisure activities
- Provide personal care if required depending on the child being supported
- Medication administration may also be required depending on the child being supported
Training:
- Mandatory and specialist training
- Level 4 NVQ in Residential Childcare - the company is going through a period of growth so there will be opportunities for the right candidate to progress in the role
Salary/Hours: £11.75 per hour. £50 per sleep in. 8am-10pm and sleep in shifts. 35 hours per week. Monday to Sunday. A flexible rota is on offer.
