Head of Facilities & Maintenance

We are seeking an exceptional candidate for our prestigious client based in Canterbury (parking IS available). This is a full-time, permanent position and commands a salary of between £54,000 and £70,000 per annum, dependent upon experience. Benefits to include a whopping 38 days annual leave per annum! The areas covered by this post in respect of PPM and reactive maintenance activity will be mechanical, electrical, building fabric, landscape and grounds. You will provide direction in order to deliver cost effective maintenance and will be expected to engage with many stakeholders, control budgets, and provide people management through defined processes. The ideal candidate will have excellent all-round experience of building services on a large, complex estate and used to dealing with multi-trade people in a maintenance environment. Maintenance works to be carried out for both PPM and reactive works through a dedicated team of trades and operational Managers.

There is a requirement to be on-call one week in five, and in return you will receive an extra £2k on top of your basic salary.

Candidate requirements to be considered for this role:

  • It is imperative you have a degree/HNC/HND in Mechanical Engineering/Building Services.
  • Demonstrable ability in the use of databases and Microsoft Office products.
  • Experience and competency of Computer Aided Facilities Management (CAFM) software packages.
  • Relevant technical knowledge of building services, grounds and facilities management, their technologies, and their impact on the work environment in a complex technical environment.
  • Detailed knowledge of statutory H&S and built environment legislation, and compliance.
  • Sound knowledge of best practice in the technical hard FM environment and experience of developing maintenance processes.
  • Experience of setting, managing and controlling maintenance budgets.
