My client is searching for a Software Application Engineer to join their team in Canterbury, Kent on a hybrid basis.

The clients Liberate Case Management system - is a locally installed application with a executable front end and SQL back end.

Main purpose

To maintain and develop the case management software systems for the firm in accordance with the instructions of the Equity Partners, In particular, to be forward-thinking, ahead of the game and always adding value.

Qualifications, skills, experience

• Proficiency in software development methodologies and architectural patterns.• Strong understanding of system design principles, including scalability, performance, and security.• Experience with various programming languages and frameworks, as well as cloud technologies.• Appropriate level qualification or equivalent experience within System Development.• Experience with maintaining and interpreting SQL databases is desirable. • Experience within the legal sector and leading on supporting and developing case management systems. • Strong Computer/IT skills

Main responsibilities

• To comply with the Solicitors Accounts Rules and the Rules on the Professional Conduct of Solicitors.• To manage all work in accordance with detailed procedures and quality standards contained in the firm’s Office Manual.• Develop and maintain the case management software solution (Liberate) and ensure that the system meets the needs and technical requirements of the business.• Lead cross-functional teams to deliver software projects on time and within scope.• Fully manage, organise and develop multiple Systems projects.• Continuously improve software development processes and practices to enhance efficiency and quality, by recommending best practice.• Write clean, efficient, and well-documented code, document templates and workflows.• Maintain accurate and up-to-date project documentation, including project plans, meeting minutes, and status reports using a centralised system.• Generate and distribute regular project progress reports to the equity partners or heads of department.• Document and archive project-related information for future reference.• Ensure support requests for Case Management software issues are logged and maintained.• Work closely and proactively with the IT Team, both in-house and external contractors. • To provide advice, guidance, development and supervision to other staff within any area of responsibility delegated to you.• To be responsible for the needs and interests of any member of staff including training and induction within your delegated area of responsibility.• Training on systems for each user is actioned as required, planned annually and recorded.
