My client in Canterbury is seeking a talented Freelance Web Designer to join their ecommerce project team. The ideal candidate will have a strong portfolio showcasing skills in graphic design, front-end development, user experience design, back-end development, ecommerce solutions, and content creation. This role is perfect for a creative and technical professional who is passionate about building seamless online shopping experiences.

Day to Day of the Role:

  • Design visually appealing layouts, user interfaces, and branding elements that align with the company’s aesthetic and ecommerce goals.

  • Develop responsive front-end interfaces using HTML, CSS, and JavaScript, ensuring cross-browser compatibility and mobile responsiveness.

  • Plan and implement site architecture and interaction flows to optimise user experience.

  • Integrate and customise back-end features to support ecommerce functionality, including shopping carts and payment gateways.

  • Collaborate with the content team to create and optimize web content for SEO, ensuring that all content aligns with the brand and enhances the user experience.

  • Test and troubleshoot any issues that arise and ensure that the final product meets the project’s requirements.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

  • Proven experience in graphic design with a strong portfolio of work.

  • Proficiency in front-end development, including HTML, CSS, and JavaScript.

  • Solid understanding of user experience design principles and tools.

  • Experience with back-end development, particularly in integrating ecommerce features.

  • Knowledge of building ecommerce platforms, including shopping carts and payment gateways.

  • Excellent content creation skills with an understanding of SEO best practices.

  • Ability to work independently, manage project timelines, and communicate effectively with team members.
