MC Technical Recruitment are currently seeking a Mechanical Technician to join an engineering business near South Benfleet, Essex who provide mechanical maintenance support to the petrochemical and power generation sectors. The Mechanical Technician will be responsible for workshop repairs, on-site maintenance, removal and installation of industrial mechanical assets e.g. pumps, valves, gearboxes, compressors, valves and turbines in small teams. Full training will be provided for candidates with the right attitude.

As the Mechanical Technician, you will be responsible for:

On site and workshop-based maintenance on work on a wide range of mechanical equipment including pumps, valves, gearboxes, compressors, valve sand turbines etc.
On site and in house maintenance testing of valves, pipework etc
When required assist and lead planned project and outages as directed by managers
Workshop based but traveling to client sites in Essex within small teams providing excellent cusutomer service
Acting as the face of the company dealing with clients on site

To be considered for this role you should have:

A relevant engineering qualification at level 3 or above
At least 2 years experience working in an engineering role within a heavy process environment
Experience carrying out maintenance and repair work on at least one industrial pieces of equipment e.g.pumps, valves, gearboxes, compressors and other rotating machinery
Candidates with an armed forces background will also be considered
Good communication skills and able to deal customers on site

A good understanding of all HSE aspects
