Building on recent digital investment, our client have been leading on a number of national health programmes. These are large-scale developments that will make a significant difference to the people of Wales.

My client require 4x IT Support Technicians, who will be required to go to various GP’s across Cardiff, Swansea and/or Pontypool to assist in the development, maintenance and support of GP systems.

Responsibilities:

  • Establish and maintain effective written and verbal communication with individuals and groups of customers and stakeholders located at GPs within NHS Wales.
  • Assist team members in devising solutions for complex issues within GP Clinical Systems (Cegedim Vision, EMIS Web, TPP SystmOne) and GP Managed Print Services (Hewlett Packard), including on-site support at GP Practices throughout NHS Wales.
  • Provide analysis and advice on interpreting data produced by systems and products, supporting decision-making on conflicting requirements and priorities of customers.
  • Provide recommendations on technical documentation to ensure continuous maintenance and development of systems and services.
  • Assist in identifying and interpreting customer requirements, risks, and issues, offering a range of evaluated options and solutions.
  • Support ongoing fault investigation tasks to provide a consistent and stable support service for users.
  • Support and organise maintenance tasks, ensuring consistent and stable support service for users.
  • Support complex fault investigation tasks, providing recommendations and proposed changes for service improvement.
  • Apply advanced skills using Microsoft Office, Teams, and Visio, and utilise remote support applications.
  • Support the installation or replacement of equipment, which may require manual handling of items weighing 2-5 kilograms.
  • Implement the roll-out of new or changed software and hardware, producing and amending documentation and procedures as necessary.

Essential:

  • Experience working with MS Active Directory, MS Windows Server & MS Exchange
  • 2 years of experience in IT Support
  • Strong troubleshooting skills
  • General knowledge of common hardware and software applications

Desirable:

  • Experience supporting NHS systems
  • Degree level or equivalent qualification in IT, or equivalent experience
  • PRINCE2 Foundation or equivalent experience
  • Knowledge of ITIL
  • Knowledge of relevant NHS standards and legal requirements relating to Information Governance and Security

Contract Details:

This is an inside IR35 contract role, offering competitive remuneration of approximately £130 per day via an Umbrella company. You will need a valid driver’s license for this role due to the travel required. A vehicle will be provided with travel expensed.
