- Preparation and checking documentation for containers.
- Checking containers against booking references and shipping notes.
- Visually check containers and ensure dangerous and hazardous goods are declared and properly labelled.
- Input data to the relevant computer systems so that container movement records are kept accurately and up to date.
- Liaise with and provide necessary information to the Production Co-ordinator to ensure trains can be loaded/unloaded efficiently and on time, and ensure receiving Terminals are aware of train loads arriving.
- Deal effectively and efficiently with customers/drivers arriving at the Terminal with insufficient/incorrect paperwork for collection/delivery.
- Where appropriate record container damage on outward/inward trains
- Maintain stock record of all containers within the Terminal so that their location status and physical condition is always known.
- Experienced IT user
- Accurate with inputting data into systems.
- Good communication skills
- Ability to solve problems
- Ability to work to strict times called and deadlines
