Reed is working with a busy special school catering for pupils aged 4- 11 with autism spectrum conditions, who have significant sensory, social communication and learning needs. Our client is looking to appoint several experienced, enthusiastic, dynamic, and reliable SEN Teaching Assistants to support pupils on the autism spectrum. This is an excellent opportunity for individuals with a passion for the educational development of children with special educational needs.

Day to day of the role:

  • Provide tailored support to pupils with autism, facilitating their learning and development.
  • Work closely with teachers to implement educational plans and activities.
  • Assist with the personal, social, and academic growth of students.
  • Engage with pupils to foster a positive and supportive learning environment.
  • Participate in in-house training and contribute to a dedicated team focused on high standards of teaching and learning.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

  • Good communication and interpersonal skills.
  • A genuine commitment to the education and development of children on the Autism Spectrum.
  • Experience of working in a primary school setting.
  • Knowledge of the Foundation Phase curriculum.
  • Ability to work flexibly and adapt to the needs of the pupils.
  • Registration with the Education Workforce Council (EWC) as per the Education (Wales) Act 2014.
  • Successful candidates will be subject to a Disclosure and Barring Service Enhanced check.
