MOT Tester/Vehicle Mechanic

Permanent Contract

£15 to £17 per hour depending on experience and qualifications

Full Time - Hours 8am to 6pm (45 hrs per week Monday to Friday/2 Saturdays 5 hours per month)

We are seeking a skilled MOT Tester to join our team. As an MOT Tester/Vehicle Mechanic for their family-owned business in Cardiff, you will be responsible for conducting vehicle inspections and ensuring that they meet safety and environmental standards. This is a crucial role in ensuring the safety of our customers and maintaining compliance with regulations.

Responsibilities:

- Perform MOT tests on vehicles according to established guidelines and standards
- Conduct thorough inspections of vehicles, including checking brakes, lights, tyres, and other essential components
- Identify any faults or defects and provide accurate and detailed reports
- Advise customers on necessary repairs or maintenance required to pass the MOT test
- Maintain accurate records of all tests conducted
- Keep up-to-date with changes in regulations and industry best practices

Requirements:

·Current up to date MOT Licence

·Previous experience essential in MOT Inspections to comply with DVSA regulations as standard.

·A full driving licence.

·Mechanical knowledge and understanding of vehicle systems

·Previous experience as an MOT Test or relevant automotive experience preferred however will consider a 3rd year mechanic looking to take an MOT Course

·Proficient in using hand tools and power tools for inspections and repairs

·Excellent attention to detail and ability to identify faults and defects accurately

·Committed team player

·Able to produce high quality of work and motivated to achieve targets
