Job Title: Senior Analyst - Children Services Transformation

Location: Carlisle

Role Overview: As a Senior Analyst supporting Children Services Transformation, you will play a pivotal role in shaping the future of our organisation's services for children and families. To provide high quality information and intelligence, and carry out high quality research for senior and service managers, and elected members to inform and influence decision making. To work with elected members, managers, planners and commissioners to understand the Council'sbusiness and to shape Council policy and strategy, the commissioning of services, the design and re-design of services and support continuous improvement of corporate and service performance.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with internal teams and external partners to gather data and insights related to children services delivery, outcomes, and impact.
  • Analyse complex data sets to identify trends, patterns, and opportunities for improvement in service delivery and outcomes.
  • Carry out high quality research and deliver high quality information and intelligence on health, wealth, crime, economy, poverty, housing demography etc of Cumbria, its people and places.
  • To work with elected members and senior officers to understand service performance, the determinants of good performance, trends in performance and identify appropriate and timely interventions for improving performance.
  • To work with elected members, senior managers, planners and commissioners of services to ensure that relevant research, information and intelligence is used to inform strategy and policy content, decision making and resource allocation.
  • To work with elected members and service managers to enable self-service access to good quality performance information and intelligence.
  • Develop and maintain performance dashboards, reports, and presentations to communicate key findings and recommendations to stakeholders at all levels.
  • Provide analytically support for program evaluation, performance measurement, and quality improvement efforts within Children Services.
  • Conduct research and literature reviews to stay abreast of best practices and emerging trends in children services and related fields.
  • Serve as a subject matter expert on data analysis and performance measurement within the organisation, providing guidance and support to colleagues as needed.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant field
  • Substantial experience of managing, interpreting and using information and intelligence to
  • Influence senior managers in a local authority and partnership context.
  • Excellent understanding of data management, research methods, and data analysis techniques.
  • Established people management skills.
  • Organisational and planning skills with a track record in managing research projects
  • Politically astute in a rapidly-changing environment
  • Good negotiation and interpersonal skills.
  • Able to operate standard office equipment and ICT skills
