Due to continued growth and internal restructuring, an exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Estimator to join the team and focus on construction and fit-out projects.

The Opportunity
As Estimator, you will play a key role within a growing commercial and pre-construction team, supporting the delivery of competitive tenders that lead to profitable and successful projects. You'll work closely with the Senior Estimator and report into the commercial leadership, assisting in delivering high-quality bids while ensuring alignment with current market trends and cost benchmarks.
This is a key hire - enabling the current QS team to return focus to commercial duties and strengthening the estimating function for continued success.
You will focus on construction/fit-out tenders, separate from joinery works.

Key Responsibilities
- Evaluate tender bid documents and produce high-quality, competitive proposals
Â
- Ensure accurate pricing of works in line with current market conditions
Â
- Liaise with clients, suppliers, and subcontractors throughout the tender process
Â
- Prepare pricing schedules, bills of quantities, and preliminaries where required
Â
- Coordinate and manage detailed enquiries and assessment of quotations
Â
- Attend internal review and tender adjudication meetings as required
Â
- Keep strong records for future reference and benchmarking
Â
- Assist with PQQ submissions as needed
Â
- Follow up on submitted tenders to understand competitive landscape
Â
- Contribute to continuous improvement of estimating processes and systems

Person Specification
Essential:
- Minimum of 5 years' experience in a main contractor estimating role
Â
- Proven track record of pricing competitive tenders
Â
- Experience working on construction or fit-out projects
Â
- Strong commercial acumen and knowledge of market rates/materials
Â
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Â
- Ability to prioritise and manage multiple tenders to tight deadlines
Â
- Strong IT skills including estimating software and Microsoft Excel
Â
Desirable:
- Experience within hotel, bar, or leisure sector fit-outs
Â
- HNC/HND or Degree in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, or similar
Â
- Subcontractor and supplier network knowledge
