Castleford Academy Trust is seeking to appoint a highly motivated and skilled Trust Catering Manager to strategically lead and direct our Trust Catering Service. The role will include the full portfolio of a Trust Catering Service, including providing a high-quality service, compliance with both statutory and trust food safety and health and safety policies, procurement of food supplies, contract management for the maintenance of key equipment, and staff management.

This is an exciting opportunity to help shape and drive the Trust Catering Service across each of our academies, which allows academy leaders to focus on their core education purpose of achieving the best possible outcomes for pupils. Ideally, you will have significant experience leading, managing, and implementing a high-quality catering service, preferably in an educational setting.

The successful candidate will work closely with Trust Leaders, Headteachers, Business Managers, Kitchen Managers, and catering staff to continue to deliver a first-class catering service. As Trust Catering Manager, you will be part of the central trust team.

Your application will need to demonstrate that you have:

·Substantial and successful experience of providing a high-quality catering service in an educational or commercial environment.

·Experience in developing and implementing catering strategies, policies and procedures, including menu planning, service delivery, budgeting, quality of provision and waste control.

·Ability to develop quality assurance systems to ensure strong performance, standards and impact.

·An understanding of a wide range of catering standards and regulatory frameworks and legislation, including COSHH, food safety, and health and safety.

·Experience in the leadership and management of a catering team including recruiting, supporting, training, and people development.

You will also need to be:

  • Supportive of the Trust’s ethos and values at all times, both within the Trust and in the wider community.
  • Committed to inspiring pupils and staff in the development initiatives and strategies, promoting whole school improvement.
  • An excellent communicator who is at ease with all stakeholders.
  • Able to demonstrate an ability to be resilient and determined whilst also providing support to Business Managers, Kitchen

Managers, and other staff across the Trust.

  • Willing and able to undertake regular travel between academy sites and a have full UK driving licence.
