Job Description

We're recruiting for a Sous Chef to join our established team at the Tempus (recently voted in the Top 100 UK hotels by the Times) We are looking for someone who will have enthusiasm, vision and the passion to continue our mission to deliver outstanding food and service to our guests.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: From 拢33,000.00 per year

Hours 45 hours per week (excluding breaks) over 5 working days.

Your main responsibilities are to:

Manage food purchasing to ensure targets are achieved and supplier relations are upheld.

Manage stock counts to ensure there is minimal wastage.

Manage the food production and be accountable for the quality of all food leaving the kitchens, covering Breakfast, lunch, afternoon tea and dinner services.

Be accountable for the cleanliness and safe systems of work in the kitchen adhering to our Health and Hygiene processes and local authority 5 star standards at all time.

Create pride in the team enabling them to deliver a consistent branded experience.

Train, mentor and develop junior staff.

To perform all tasks in the absence of the Head Chef to the required standard.

Regularly review information and feedback and consistently respond to guest feedback.

Support the business with new venue acquisitions and their culinary offerings.

You will be:

A team player but also a strong leader who is not afraid to step up in the absence of the head chef.

You have an outgoing personality, exceptional organisational and communication skills both with guests and colleagues.

A minimum of 2 years experience in similar establishment

Ready to take the next step in your career

Own transport as location is rural with limited public transport

The holder of a level 2 Health and Safety certificate

Located on the stunningly, idyllic Charlton Hall Estate just outside of Alnwick, Northumberland. The Doxford Group is a family run organisation already specialising in delivering extraordinary wedding and event experiences. In addition to the wedding venues, the Tempus Hotel, Bar and Restaurant is a boutique hotel that is in the grounds. Our bedrooms are totally individual and reflect our unique style that is carried through to our restaurant and bar.
