Your Role

As Night Operations Manager, you’ll be the key point of contact during night shifts, ensuring smooth and efficient operations across our warehouse. You’ll lead the Warehouse Operative team and work closely with drivers, internal teams, and external partners to maintain exceptional service standards.

Responsibilities:

  • Oversee all warehouse activities during the night shift, ensuring service levels are met for both internal and external stakeholders.
  • Act as the key liaison between the Transport & Operations team and import/export facilities.
  • Ensure smooth communication and collaboration with airline sheds, freight forwarders, and customers.
  • Lead and support the Warehouse Operative team - including inductions, training, development, holiday planning, and sickness cover.
  • Assist in conducting risk assessments and contribute to risk mitigation strategies.
  • Manage documentation processes and prepare for seamless handover to the day shift.

What You’ll Bring

Essential:

  • Proven experience in transport and logistics operations
  • Strong understanding of global freight forwarding
  • Working knowledge of aviation industry Safety Management Systems (SMS)
  • Effective communication with diverse stakeholders
  • Solid team leadership and coaching ability
  • Commercial awareness and confident decision-making
  • Excellent organisation and time management
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and operational systems

Desirable:

  • Previous team management experience
  • Cargo Management training
  • Forklift Counterbalance and/or Reach truck certified
  • IOSH qualification
