Conrad Consulting are pleased to be working alongside a well-established, multi-disciplinary consultancy to secure the services of an experienced Architectural Technician who possesses an expertise within contract administration for their team based close to Chelmsford in Essex.


This firm specialise in delivering first class projects in Surveying, Architecture and Project Management for Educational, Commercial and Residential clients throughout London and the surrounding counties. Their tailored and professional approach has served their clients very well over the past 25 years and their reputation continues to grow to this day.

To build on these successes we are seeking an intelligent, self-motivated and well-organised Architectural Technician to complement the team delivering on a variety of interesting projects.

The role will involve developing scheme & estimate/funding applications, specifications and tender packages, site visits, project administration and other such duties to deliver the professional service that the firm prides itself on. As such, this isn't your typical Architectural Technician role as it will largely be a project running position that suits someone who is happy to carry out the contract administration duties. Projects will come largely within the Education sector.


Responsibilities of Role:

  • Undertake school condition surveys and reports to support Condition Funding Applications
  • Liaise with educational establishments to determine capital refurbishment projects viable for CIF bidding
  • Organise and collate specialist survey reports to support the capital funding bid
  • Collate secondary research from educational establishments to support the capital funding bid
  • Preparation of specifications / employer's requirements documents, and tender documents for tender issue
  • Produce funding applications following completion of the above items using the company bid template
  • Undertake employers agent / contract administration roles in delivery of the successful capital funding capital projects
  • Collate, organise and issue documentation to facilitate the delivery of projects.
  • Carry out any other reasonable duties and responsibilities within the overall function, commensurate with the responsibilities of the role


Architectural Technician Requirements:

  • A degree in Architectural Technology - highly desirable
  • Demonstrable extensive experience within UK Architecture industry
  • Knowledge of Architectural Design, Town Planning and Building Regulations
  • Experience working within a client-facing capacity
  • Team management experience - desirable
  • The ability to produce accurate and consistent quality documents which meet client and business requirements
  • Evidence of working with JCT Minor Works, Intermediate and Design & Build Contracts
  • Evidence of undertaking contract administrator duties or Employers Agent duties under JCT contract forms (contractor appointment, preparing contracts, pre-contract and progress meetings, valuation certificates, handover / practical completion)
  • Driving license

The successful Architectural Technician will receive a competitive salary, up to 50k (dependant on experience), plus Bonus (subject to business performance).
