We are on the lookout for a seasoned Production Manager to lead our production operations in Chelmsford. The ideal candidate will be a dynamic and experienced individual committed to driving efficiency and excellence within our manufacturing processes.
Day-to-day of the role:
- Implement and integrate lean manufacturing principles into daily operations to streamline production and reduce waste.
- Lead continuous improvement initiatives, enhancing productivity and operational efficiency.
- Manage production schedules to ensure the timely delivery of high-quality products, while collaborating with various teams to optimize resources.
- Motivate and manage production teams, fostering a culture of accountability and continuous improvement, and providing necessary coaching and training.
- Oversee quality control processes to meet and exceed industry standards, working closely with the quality assurance team to resolve product issues.
- Monitor and control production costs in collaboration with the finance department, identifying cost-saving measures that maintain product quality.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
- Proven experience as a Production Manager with a strong grasp of lean manufacturing principles.
- Exceptional leadership and communication skills, capable of inspiring and engaging teams.
- Comprehensive knowledge of production planning, scheduling, and quality assurance.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with a focus on continuous improvement.
- Familiarity with industry-standard production equipment and technology.
- Bachelor’s degree in Industrial Engineering, Manufacturing, or a related field is desirable.
- A minimum of 5 years of relevant experience in a manufacturing environment.
- Lean or Six Sigma certification is highly desirable.
