Data Cabling Technician

We are seeking an Data Cabling Technician to join our team, providing exceptional service and support to our clients. The ideal candidate will be responsible for handling service requests, performing hardware maintenance, and ensuring all  equipment is installed to the highest standards. This role requires a highly motivated individual with a positive and proactive attitude to work.

Day-to-day of the role:

  • Receive, respond, resolve, and complete service requests and Break/Fix tickets within the agreed SLA timeframe or escalate promptly if they cannot be resolved in a timely manner.
  • Assess and complete patching/de-patching requests, as well as other cabling tasks such as installation and running (both copper and fibre), adhering to internal, manufacturer, and industry standards.
  • Cabling installation, equipment installation, relocation, and decommission requests efficiently and to the highest standards.
  • Provide remote hands problem-solving support, including server reboots, backups, and visual inspections.
  • Maintain a proactive approach to improve operational efficiency through innovation, process, and procedure enhancements.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

  • Experience with cabling (copper & fibre) and knowledge of industry standards.
  • Highly motivated with a positive and proactive attitude to work.
  • Willingness to innovate and improve operational efficiency.
  • Ability to act rapidly and logically under pressure, making effective use of others in resolving problems.
