Rotheram Carrington Recruitment Group is pleased to support to a PE-backed FMCG manufacturing company near Chester in the search for a Strategic Finance & Ops Director (80% Operations - 20% Finance). The company has shown remarkable growth, doubling in size year on year since its inception and currently achieving a turnover of approximately £6.5 million, with an additional 20% growth expected.

Our client is in need of a highly skilled Strategic Finance & Operations Director with a substantial background in manufacturing. This role will assume full financial responsibility for the P&L and cash management for the company, while also being 'heavily’ involved in operations and manufacturing.

The chosen candidate will collaborate closely with the Managing Director to develop, drive, and deliver the strategic plan to support the next phase of growth, which may include exploring further investment opportunities.

Key impact areas for the incoming Strategic Finance & Operations Director will include:

  • To lead and drive change within the business and be accountable for decisions and outcomes, becoming a trusted leader across the Company.
  • Understand the key drivers within the business, support strategy development, and manage KPIs to ensure financial and operational efficiency.
  • Support the CTO and operational teams in developing strategies to improve performance and decision making within the UK manufacturing site.
  • Review the current manufacturing processes and cost base to identify areas for efficiencies, creating a lean culture and optimal margins.
  • Consolidate finances across the Company under one banking relationship to optimize international treasury management, create transparency between all subsidiaries, and establish proactive cash forecasting for appropriate funding group-wide.

The successful person would need to be fairly local to Chester, as you will be expected to be on site full-time during this critical phase of growth.
