The CompanyAxon Moore is exclusively partnering with a leading FMCG business in West Manchester who're on the lookout for an experienced Transactional Finance Manager. Reporting into the Head of Finance you will support, lead & develop the AP & AR functions supported by 2 Team Leaders.Salary - £55,000Location – TraffordHybrid – 4 days office, 1 from homeResponsibilities will include:
  • Direct line management of 2 Team Leaders & wider transactional team of 10 +
  • Process owner for all transactional finance functions.
  • Manage, motivate and develop the Transactional Finance Team, including Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable and Cash Management along with Master data encouraging a high performing, collaborative culture.
  • Ensure the function runs smoothly with a strong emphasis on building and maintaining strong relationships, both internal and external relationships ensuring continuing excellent service standards
  • Provide clear information to finance and wider business management teams to highlight issues and to flag trends and performance - particular focus on KPI reporting.
  • Set and agree targets with the respective teams and ensure delivery of BAU activities to meet KPIs and SLAs
  • Be the go-to person and point of escalation for transactional finance queries within the business and with suppliers/customers, ensuring accurate details and reconciliations take place. Ensure prompt resolution of any issues.
  • Identify areas of improvement within the function to optimise performance and effectiveness.
  • Ensure collection of cash in a timely manner, management of aged debt and limit the company's exposure to bad debt.
  • Ensure all team tasks are carried out correctly and on time including but not limited to the processing of payment runs reduction and reconciliation of Debit balances and AP statement and ledger reconciliation.
  • Manage and adhere to the month-end reporting schedule and deliver witin deadlines.
Person Specification:
  • Knowledge of SAP 
  • Knowledge of AP & AR accounting processes and procedures
  • Highly motivated and able to work on own initiative without minimal supervision
  • Work well within a team and a team player
  • A good communicator with solid negotiation skills.
  • Organised, analytical with a keen eye for detail
  • A working knowledge of MS Office skills – particularly Excel, Word and Outlook
