We are seeking an enthusiastic and talented Maths Teacher to join our successful and supportive Mathematics Department. The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering high-quality teaching and learning across Key Stages 3 and 4, with opportunities to teach Key Stage 5 for suitably qualified candidates.

This is an excellent opportunity for a motivated teacher—whether experienced or newly qualified—to inspire students, raise attainment, and foster a genuine appreciation for mathematics in a welcoming school environment.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Plan, prepare, and deliver high-quality and engaging Maths lessons in line with the national curriculum.

  • Teach across the full age and ability range, ensuring all pupils are appropriately challenged and supported.

  • Monitor student progress through effective assessment and provide timely feedback to support improvement.

  • Contribute to the development of departmental resources, schemes of work, and teaching strategies.

  • Maintain high expectations of behaviour, attendance, and work ethic.

  • Participate in departmental and whole-school meetings, training, and school events.

  • Uphold the school’s values and contribute to its positive ethos and culture.

Person Specification:

Essential:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)

  • A degree in Mathematics or a closely related subject

  • Experience teaching Maths at secondary level (Key Stages 3 and 4)

  • Strong subject knowledge and a passion for mathematics

  • Excellent classroom and behaviour management skills

  • Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of students

Desirable:

  • Experience or willingness to teach Key Stage 5

  • Familiarity with recent developments in maths education and pedagogy

  • Interest in contributing to extracurricular maths activities or enrichment programmes
