Your new companyHays are pleased to be working on a fantastic new job opportunity to join a growing organisation in Chesterfield.This role is newly created to support the business through a period of growth. The role will initially be a 12-month fixed contract, ideally starting May 2024 / June 2024.KEY VACANCY INFORMATION- Operations Manager required with either Pensions or relevant financial services experience.- Initially the vacancy is a 12-month fixed contract (this role could become a permanent role but at business discretion) and is to cover a secondment in the department.- Office based in fantastic offices in Chesterfield with 2 days working from home working.- 36.5 hours a week Monday to Friday - Salary guide (based on experience) £38,000 - £45,000 + benefits and a company discretionary bonus- Free parking available Your new roleThis will be an exciting role reporting to the Head of Operations. The main purpose of the role will be to provide cover for 12 months whilst other members of the Operations Department are seconded to a project. The Operations Manager will be responsible for the effective day-to-day performance and oversight/ management of direct reports, approx 20 + staff.The position will report strong leadership and communication skills. Ideally, the successful applicant will have previous experience at Operations Manager level within the pensions sector or financial services. Duties of the position will include;- Day to day staff and operational management tasks- A proactive approach to monitoring performance - KPI's and customer reports/ feedback- Management of day-day team activity ensuring service levels are upheld- Handling escalations, complaints and errors- Working towards the department's goals for service levels- Identifying staff training errors and personal development- Working with other departments e.g. Risk and Compliance- Conducting staff 1-2-1 appraisals / reward / recognition- Attendance monitoring / absence management- Taking accountability for improvement initiatives, analysis of case work and reporting processes- Reporting to Head of OperationsWhat you'll need to succeedThe successful applicant will ideally be available to start this role quickly given the contractual nature of the post.
