Purchasing & Planning Assistant

Inspire Resourcing are currently recruiting for a Purchasing & Planning Assistant on behalf of our well established client based in Chesterfield.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Administrative duties including the setup of new Products, assisting in maintaining Bill of Materials, monitoring Purchase Orders and Work Orders throughout the system.
  • To liaise and chase suppliers/3PL to ensure an efficient supply chain is maintained e.g. running key reports such as Kit Shortages & PO acknowledgements.
  • Assist in material and componentry usage for forecasting, to ensure a lean and viable stock holding is maintained.
  • Effective control of phasing in & out parts and products e.g., all different skus/stock information.
  • To assist with editing any documentation or system information on product specifications.
  • Propose solutions to solve daily supply issues.
  • Assist in the prospecting of new suppliers.
  • Maintaining of supplier database.
  • Maintain and develop relationships with existing and new suppliers.
  • To build strong rapports with other departments within the business to ensure as a department we are working collaboratively to solve problems.
  • Communicate & report effectively to colleagues.

Personal Specification:

  • A level of higher Education is preferred.
  • Purchasing experience within an MRP environment is useful.
  • Experience within a high-volume environment would be an advantage.
  • Excellent IT skills including MS Office. Strong Excel skills are required.
  • Strong communication skills.
  • Excellent relationship building skills.
  • To be more proactive than reactive.
  • Ability to work well as part of a team but to also be self-motivated and able to work independently is important.
  • Ability to prioritise workload without supervision.
