A very exciting opportunity has arisen to join a progressive tech company based in West Sussex. Apex8 encompasses a group of companies which deals with the marketing, pricing and purchase of thousands of vehicles every month. We are the fastest growing company in our sector and we have seen rapid growth over the past 6 years. We focus on lead generation and develop our own products and tools to provide a first-rate user experience and allow us to process over 100,000 enquiries each month. We are seeking a talented DevOps Engineer to join our team and play a crucial role in optimising our infrastructure and deployment processes.

As our ideal candidate you will have a strong background in AWS cloud services, Infrastructure as Code (IaC), Symfony framework, REST API development, and MySQL/Aurora database management.

Responsibilities:

· Design, implement, and maintain scalable and secure AWS infrastructure using services such as EC2, RDS, S3, Lambda, ECS, and IAM.

· Develop and manage Infrastructure as Code (IaC) using tools like Terraform or AWS CloudFormation to automate deployment, scaling, and management of infrastructure resources.

· Collaborate with development teams to implement Continuous Integration (CI) and Continuous Deployment (CD) pipelines for efficient and reliable software delivery.

· Monitor system performance and reliability, and implement proactive measures to optimise resource utilisation, enhance security, and ensure high availability.

· Troubleshoot and resolve infrastructure issues, including network connectivity, server errors, and performance bottlenecks.

· Work closely with software engineers to optimise application performance, troubleshoot production issues, and ensure smooth deployment of new features.

· Manage and administer MySQL databases, including schema design, performance tuning, backups, and replication. * Implement and maintain RESTful APIs for seamless integration between different systems and services.

· Stay up-to-date with the latest trends and best practices in DevOps, cloud computing, and infrastructure automation, and evaluate and recommend new technologies and tools. Requirements: * Proven experience working as a DevOps Engineer or in a similar role.

· Strong proficiency in AWS cloud services, including EC2, RDS, S3, Lambda, ECS, and IAM.

· Solid understanding of Infrastructure as Code (IaC) concepts and experience with tools like Terraform or AWS CloudFormation. * Experience with Symfony framework and building RESTful APIs. * Proficiency in managing and optimising MySQL databases.

· Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and related tools such as Bitbucket, or AWS CodePipeline. * Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to troubleshoot complex issues in a production environment.

· Strong communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team environment.

Preferred Qualifications:

· AWS certification (e.g., AWS Certified DevOps Engineer, AWS Certified Solutions Architect).

· Experience with containerisation and orchestration technologies such as Docker and Kubernetes.

· Familiarity with monitoring and logging tools such as Newrelic, AWS CloudWatch.

· Knowledge of security best practices and experience implementing security controls in AWS environments.

· Experience with Agile methodologies and DevOps practices.

· Familiarity with other programming languages such as PHP, React, Node.js

Salary bracket £40k to £60k dependent upon experience

This is a hybrid working model, with a minimum of 1 day per week based in Tangmere, West Sussex
