Are you a Legal Cashier or Financial Assistant that’s looking for a new opportunity? Are you local or in a commutable location to Chichester? Then look no further!

We are seeking a Legal Cashier or Finance Assistant to join our Finance and Administration Department. This role is based in the Chichester office and offers a varied workload with comprehensive training provided. The successful candidate will assist with all aspects of the cashiering function, ensuring compliance with SRA Accounts Rules and FCA rules for authorised professional firms.

Day to Day of the role:

  • Correctly posting all financial transactions in accordance with relevant rules and regulations.
  • Identifying and allocating office money to the office or nominal ledger.
  • Preparing and processing office cheques, disbursement invoices, and supplier invoices.
  • Reconciling supplier statements and resolving any queries.
  • Processing and paying staff expense claims.
  • Managing petty cash and credit card expenditure.
  • Handling CHAPS, foreign payments, and BACS payments with associated authentication procedures.
  • Allocating incoming funds to client ledgers, including credit card receipts.
  • Preparing client cheques and processing client-related disbursements and expenses.
  • Assisting with billing processes and archiving client ledgers.
  • Supporting daily transaction processing and team members to ensure no backlogs.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

  • Previous experience in an accounts department is desirable.
  • High attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Ability to prioritise work and cope well during high-volume periods.
  • Confident and articulate communication skills.
  • IT literate with proficiency in Excel and Word.
  • Numerate, pro-active, and enthusiastic with a personable and professional approach to work.
