Spencer & James is proud to partner with a leading contractor specializing in Social Housing Repairs, Voids, and Planned Investment Refurbishment Works. We are currently seeking a dynamicand motivatedQuantity Surveyor to join theteam, supporting the delivery of significant work streams for Local Authorities and Housing Associations.

Role: Quantity Surveyor

Location: Hybrid - Essex Based & Home Working Available

Overview:

You will be responsible for managing individual contractor accounts, preparing regular reports, and conducting analysis. Additionally, you will provide commercial insights and support to ensure financial efficiency.

As a key member of the team, you will play a pivotal role in budget management. This includes reviewing payment applications and generating weekly and monthly reports for the Senior Quantity Surveyor and Commercial Manager.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Establish job files and maintain all necessary records, ensuring they are up to date.
  • Prepare and send out tender packages to subcontractors.
  • Collect subcontractor tenders and, in collaboration with the Site Team, award subcontracts.
  • Collaborate with the Senior Quantity Surveyor to review and approve subcontractor payment claims.
  • Evaluate and estimate the cost of contract variations.
  • Communicate with subcontractors to address any queries.
  • Support with contract valuations.
  • Aid in monthly cost/value reconciliations.

Requirements:

  • Experience working at a Main/ Principle contractor within the Social Housing Refurbishment & Maintenance sector
  • Have an understaidng ofNHF SOR's
  • Ideally holding a degree in Quantity Surveying/ Cost Managment or HNC
  • Excellent budgeting and reporting skills
  • Williness to
