Cloud Business Development Manager

We are seeking a Cloud Business Development Manager to join our Technical Pre-Sales function within Business Solutions and Services. The role is centred on Infrastructure and Platform as a Service (IaaS/PaaS) and is crucial for driving revenue growth and market expansion through a hybrid and vendor-agnostic approach.

Day-to-day of the role:
  • Lead the strategy shift from traditional infrastructure to cloud and hybrid environments, with templated offerings and services.
  • Support the development of the Cloud team and promote technical capabilities within the sales floor.
  • Manage Cloud pipeline and forecasting, collaborating with vendors, distributors, and partners to maximise deal profitability.
  • Support marketing to create a fully managed Cloud service wrapper, delivered in-house.
  • Hunt new business within the sales teams and educate Account Managers on key Cloud solutions.
  • Develop sales playbooks and engagement processes to encourage Cloud team utilisation.
  • Manage and update the Cloud portfolio, focusing on growing vendors like Microsoft Azure, VMware vCloud, Acronis, and Veeam.
  • Build and maintain customer relationships and partnerships with vendors and service partners.
  • Collaborate with marketing on focused Cloud campaigns and events.
  • Assist in claiming relevant funding from aligned vendors.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
  • Proven business development or sales experience, with a focus on cloud computing technologies.
  • Strong understanding of cloud platforms, mainly Azure, and services (IaaS, PaaS, SaaS).
  • Excellent communication and negotiation skills, capable of explaining technical concepts to non-technical audiences.
  • Strategic thinker with analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Collaborative, able to work across teams and with all levels of management.
  • Willingness to travel for client meetings and industry events.
  • Desirable: Ability to conduct customer demonstrations/technical overviews.
  • Interest in expanding technical knowledge and experience.
