Stonegate are looking for a Finance Director to join our Head Office team based in Lacock, Wiltshire. As our Finance Director you will take holistic responsibility of our finance function, developing all necessary policies and procedures to ensure sound financial management across the business. You will also work alongside our senior leadership team, providing strategic and financial guidance to support the profitable business growth aspirations.

Stonegate Farmers Ltd is an integrated free range and organic egg business organised across three divisions comprising farming and agriculture, egg packing and cooked egg processing. Established in 1926 and under new ownership since 2016, we have grown into one the largest free-range and organic egg producers within the UK.

Moving millions of mother nature’s most fragile food items every day takes finesse and know how. We work closely with our producers to collect, grade and package each individual egg. Role & Responsibilities:

  • Oversee end to end finance operations, financial planning and analysis, balance sheet reconciliation etc
  • Work in conjunction with our CEO and Senior Management to develop plans for strategic and sustainable financial growth
  • Oversee the preparations and timely submission of consistent weekly and monthly operational reporting of financial information and manufacturing KPIs
  • Oversee end to end audit process and act as the point of contact for external auditors on site
  • Ensure maximisation of system functionality to drive accurate and timely financial information for weekly and monthly processes
  • Continually identify risks of delivery of accurate and timely reporting; propose solutions and effectively manage stakeholder expectations throughout
  • Ensure accurate and timely processing of accounts payable and receivable
  • Ownership cash flow and management working capital
  • Management and analysis of all cost areas, ensuring effective cost management
  • Drive continual improvement in department processes and ways of thinking
  • Monthly presentation of financial positioning against budget to senior management team
  • Maintain strong working relationships with site, divisional and group functions
  • Ensure compliance to company financial policies and processes
  • Development and effective management of finance team
  • Support and contribute to site CI projects, providing financial advice and guidance for consideration

Qualifications / Experience:

  • Professional accountancy qualification (CIMA, ACA, ACCA, or similar) with more than 5 years post qualification experience
  • Previous experience successfully managing the finance function within a Food/ FMCG/ Manufacturing environment
  • Proven experience in skilfully managing a turnover £150m +
  • Strong knowledge of accounting principles and financial analysis techniques
  • Experience in preparation of all areas of Financial Statements
