My client works with large brands to process and refurbish product returns, before reselling them for the highest achievable price. As a result of significant growth my client is looking for Furniture Engineers.

Reporting to the Operations Manager this role will suit a detail-oriented and organised individual for the role of Furniture Engineer at the refurbishment site in Chorley. Working within the warehouse environment of our furniture refurbishment centre is a team of operatives and engineers who are responsible for accurately grading and refreshing various types of assembled, flat packed, and upholstered furniture in accordance with business standards.

Applicants for this role will have great attention to detail and a good awareness of online buyer expectations. A history or passion for furniture refurbishment is essential.

Job Responsibilities

  • Evaluate damages and select appropriate grades for products using the grading guide provided
  • Restoration of all styles of upholstered leather and fabric furniture as well as fully constructed wood, flat pack, dining, and bedroom furniture
  • Enter all product details to cloud-based spreadsheets and check the pre-existing data is correct
  • Wrap and pack the product ready for transport
  • Follow standard operating procedures and ensure daily/weekly/monthly performance levels are achieved

The ideal candidate will have;

  • Strong attention to detail
  • Excellent time management and organisational skills
  • The ability to work independently but contributing to the larger team in a fast-paced environment
  • An aptitude for self-assembly flat pack furniture
  • Awareness of online buyer expectations
  • A passion for DIY / refurbishment
  • Manual handling skills
  • Experience of using spreadsheet-based data entry systems (not essential, training provided)
  • Experience of using hand / power tools
  • Experience in a furniture-based industry
