Job Title: Assistant Quantity SurveyorLocation: SkelmersdaleReports to: Quantity Surveyor/Commercial ManagerSearch are looking to recruit an Assistant Quantity Surveyor to join one of our clients based in Chorley, initially on a project in the Skelmersdale area. This is an exciting opportunity to join a company offering real progression opportunity within a growing business.As the Assistant Quantity Surveyor, you will assist with the management of the commercialfunction for projects allocated. This will include practical quantity surveying tasks andactivities, actions to support colleagues and appropriate administrative duties one would associatewith commercial / quantity surveying practices in relation to construction projects.You will be working underneath a Senior Quantity Surveyor, with a view to taking over full control of this and future projects over the coming monthsAssistant Quantity Surveyor - Main Duties: * Support and assist colleagues with Cost Value Reconciliation (CVR) from the agreed construction budget, as well as monthly CVR reports, liaising with the project teams to assure the CVR captures the current position and the forecast final position* Produce and update the procurement schedule in line with current contract programme* Undertake procurement processes to ensure subcontract packages are placed in a timelymanner and line with site programme requirements* Assist in the management of subcontractor accounts (payments / contract administration /claims & variations / final accounts)* Assist with and contribute to the internal reporting processes, maintaining accuracy andworking to ensure deadlines are met (CVRs / Expenditure / Cash-flow etc.)* Escalate risks to senior colleagues appropriately, identifying possible solutions and suggestionsof how a risk may be mitigated* Work with and provide commercial support to the project team throughout the project,acting as a key member of the project team* Attend site in conjunction with submission dates of subcontractor invoices to value theworks accuratelyThis is an active role and applicants are being review immediately.
