Our client, a global technology provider and distributor, is seeking a Financial Accountant to join their Group Reporting team. This role is crucial for providing technical and controls expertise to support the wider company. The ideal candidate will be a part-qualified accountant with experience in multi-currency environments and a history of managing external audit relationships.
Day to Day of the role:- Take ownership of EMEA inventory reconciliation and understand monthly variances.
- Act as the group central subject matter expert on areas such as vendor price changes and shipped not billed orders.
- Produce key reports and outputs to support the decision-making process.
- Ensure compliance with Group Policies, including operating internal controls over financial reporting.
- Play a significant role in the year-end process, including preparation of deliverables for external audits and acting as a key contact for auditors.
- Review current processes to identify opportunities for automation and efficiencies.
- Prepare journals for the month-end close and manage risk through balance sheet reconciliations.
- Support junior members of the team and provide key support for the Group Financial Controller.
- Handle ad-hoc tasks and projects as required.
- Part-qualified accountant (ACA/ACCA/CIMA).
- Experience in companies operating in multi-currency environments.
- A history of managing external audit relationships and projects.
- Strong Excel skills and the ability to work with complex models.
- Experience with multi-company consolidations is an advantage.
- Familiarity with SAP, Power BI, and Hyperion is beneficial.
- Strong organizational skills and the ability to work with limited supervision.
- Strong attention to detail and able to work with large datasets.
- Knowledge of best practice in processes and internal controls.
- Team-player, able to work across finance and cross-functional teams globally.
