We are currently expanding our team and are therefore looking for a hardworking, reliable and passionate sous chefto join our thriving friendly team.

We are passionate about what we do, high quality produce and food are key to our business.As a business wecater frequently cater for large group bookings, weddings and buffets so there is always plenty of variety.

Sous chef attributes: We are looking for someone who is ambitious,hard working &passionate about food & the creation of dishes. So....If you are a keen team player, creative & versatile then this role could be for YOU!

A bit about us:

We are a privately owned public house, 8 miles outside of Brighton, situated in the South Downs National Park. The pub has four bed & breakfast rooms is based in a semi rural location within Mid Sussex, own transport is therefore essential for this position.

Sous chef - duties would include:

Planning how the food is presented on the plate

Management of kitchen rota

Organising the kitchen

Organising and sourcing for best & most cost effective local products

Ensure that all food that goes to the customer is of the best quality to maintain high standards

Checking the cleanliness of the kitchen environment

Stock control

Organisation and standards

Working as part of a team in a constructive manner and have a committed approach to the development of creative service within the kitchen.

Be aware of Health & Safety/ Hygiene Regulations

Training new staff and helping them develop their own career

Required background of a sous chef:

Ideally have a strong background in high quality pubs or hotels

You must be used to working with fresh ingredients and place heavy emphasis on quality and consistency.

This position will require you to work weekends and some evenings (on rotation with other staff members)
