We are seeking an Accounts Assistant to join our Finance Team, providing essential support in the management of the Sales & Purchase Ledger function. The role requires a high degree of accuracy, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work to tight deadlines. This position offers a Monday to Friday work schedule with the need for flexibility around month-end.
Day to Day of the role:- Ensure sales invoices are raised correctly and on time.
- Follow up on invoices in query to ensure timely resolution.
- Issue credit notes as requested.
- Remove cancelled orders from the system weekly.
- Maintain the Accounts inbox, dealing with or assigning queries daily.
- Ensure compliance with financial controls.
- Assist with daily reconciliation of cash book and bank accounts.
- Assist with checks and controls over outgoing payments and sales refunds.
- Enter data for the purchase ledger, including invoice validation, supplier statement reconciliation, and payment scheduling.
- Process company-wide credit card expenditure, ensuring all receipts are collected.
- Maintain accurate accounts payable and receivable records and filing.
- Assist with hotel bookings for engineers as required.
- Provide support and cover for other areas within the finance department as needed.
- Minimum of 2 years’ experience in an accounts environment.
- Knowledge of Microsoft Office, particularly Excel.
- Ideally holding or working towards AAT level 2.
- Knowledge of Access Dimensions (advantageous but not essential).
- High accuracy and attention to detail.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to develop robust working relationships.
