Electrical Maintenance Technician – Day Shift
Location: Essex – Commutable from Ipswich, Chelmsford and Clacton-On-SeaShift: Day Shift | Full-TimeSalary: Up to £45,000 per annum
We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Electrical Maintenance Technician to join our clients growing team. This is a fantastic opportunity to work in a dynamic environment where your expertise will directly contribute to the smooth operation and continuous improvement of our client’s company.
As an Electrical Maintenance Technician, your role will include:
- Performing routine maintenance and inspections of electrical systems and equipment
- Responding promptly to plant breakdowns to minimize downtime
- Diagnosing and resolving electrical faults effectively
- Installing, maintaining, and repairing 3-phase motors, PLCs, VFDs, and other systems
- Ensuring compliance with safety regulations and electrical codes
- Documenting maintenance and repair activities accurately
- Collaborating with other departments to support overall operations
- Participating in continuous improvement initiatives to enhance system reliability
- Taking part in the call-out rota as required
What We’re Looking For
We’re looking for someone with a strong technical background and a proactive approach. The ideal candidate will have:
- 18th or 17th Edition certification
- Proficiency in diagnosing PLC/HMI systems and understanding ladder logic
- Experience with commissioning and troubleshooting Variable Frequency Drives
- Strong control and automation skills, including modifying and implementing control systems
- Solid understanding of 3-phase and single-phase systems
- Proven experience in factory automation and maintenance
- Excellent diagnostic skills in LV circuits, motors, and lighting systems
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and electrical schematics
