Reed are working with a Supported Living provider who are seeking an Operations Manager with a proven track record in supporting individuals with Autism, Learning Disabilities, and Complex needs.

This role is based in Colchester, Essex, and will cover the Southeast region. The successful candidate will be part of a team that has been recognised for excellence, having been awarded Team of the Year 2023 in the Essex Care Awards.

Day to Day of the role:

  • Provide leadership and development to the Management teams, ensuring high-quality service delivery and business outcomes.
  • Develop performance using the Competency Framework, ensuring Managers meet expectations in performance and behaviour.
  • Role model for employees, being optimistic, approachable, and maintaining a regular presence.
  • Work proactively with the Head of Quality to set up new services appropriately.
  • Instil commercial understanding within Service Managers, ensuring accountability for their business area.
  • Manage individual performance, promote CPD, and address underperformance.
  • Lead and participate in out-of-hours and on-call processes as required.
  • Conduct detailed appraisals for Service Managers, ensuring recognition and development.
  • Oversee financial performance, maintain high levels of occupancy, and manage service delivery within budget.
  • Ensure compliance with all regulatory and legislative requirements.
  • Manage complaints effectively and maintain excellent customer service.
  • Develop and maintain knowledge of current issues and legislation affecting adults with disabilities.
  • Represent the business vision, strategy, and values externally.
  • Lead culture change, sustain employee engagement, and ensure high-quality support to Service Users.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

  • Experience as an Operations or Registered Manager, ideally in a Supported Living setting.
  • Demonstrable leadership and management experience.
  • Familiarity with regulatory frameworks such as CQC or Local Authority contract compliance.
  • Exceptional administration and organisational skills.
  • Proficiency in MS Office and strong computer skills.
  • Strong numeracy and literacy skills, with the ability to analyse data and compile reports.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Self-motivated with the ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
  • Warm, friendly, and compassionate with a desire to make a difference in individuals’ lives.
