Pay rate: £11.44 per hour

Location: Coleford, GL16 8JB

Working hours: 37.5 hours/week (Mon to Friday)

Shift time: 08h00 - 16h00 or 09h00-17h00

Contract: 3 months

Responsibilities:

  • Product preparation
  • Brew preparations and experiments
  • Laboratory work
  • Improving methodologies
  • Issue goods to internal customers in strict rotation in an efficient and timely manner in order to fully meet customer requirements.
  • Complete accurate stock inventory checks on a random basis in order to achieve a minimum data accuracy of 98%
  • Maintain good housekeeping standards and Health & Safety working practices in order to ensure a safe and hygienic working environment for all members of staff
  • Contribute in a flexible manner in order to enhance the overall performance of the department

Requirements:

  • Must have A level science
  • Brewery experience would be an advantage but not essential
  • Applicants must be eligible to work in the UK and be able to provide proof and be over 18 years old

PRODUCT DEVELOPMENT

  • Assist and support the production of new formulations.
  • Reliably produce samples in the lab (concentrates, emulsions and finished products). And support Scientists to obtain an appropriate record production of samples and analytical results.
  • Support Scientists to execute scientific / technical work on development projects.
  • Analytical validation and recording of samples or batches made in the lab.
  • Independently operates the lab equipment required for NPD delivery.

LABORATORY TASKS

  • Responsible for the lab organization. Ensures labeling, materials and fixtures (accessories) are in place, correct and of appropriate grade.
  • Responsible for the good order in the laboratory, the use of equipment, cleaning and schedules, quality systems and procedures / processes.
  • To liaise with the contract companies to ensure adequate cleaning, maintenance and waste disposal procedures are in place and followed.
  • Creates, maintains and monitors de lab cleaning and equipment maintenance schedules.
  • Liaises with suppliers to ensure adequate stock rotation and record the incoming materials for traceability.
  • Maintains the records of ingredients, processes and procedures for full traceability of all products.
  • Conducts all work with good laboratory practice.
  • With the support of the line manager, writes and reviews procedures, instructions and guidelines relevant for the daily work in the lab.
  • Assist and support the continuous improvement of the organization, processes and WOW
  • Reports any significant variation and faults to the area owner and line manager.
  • Proactively identifies areas for improvement within the lab.
