We are looking for a Fleet Workshop Assistant in Colwyn Bay. You will be responsible for the upkeep and cleanliness of both fleet workshop and the vehicles that arrive at the fleet workshop.
This is a contract running from May until August.
Monday to Friday 08:00am - 16:30pm.
Duties will include:
- Undertake general duties and maintenance duties as directed by Chargehands and Senior Officers.
- Ensure workshop equipment such as ladders, gas bottles, compressor equipment are maintained and stored correctly.
- Wash down all vehicles for inspection/service.
- Deliver/collect vehicle parts and vehicles as and when requested.
- Ensure yard and workshop areas are kept in a clean and tidy condition.
The ideal candidate will have the following experience:
- Full driving license to include HGV.
- Experience of manual work and safe manual handling procedures.
- High standard of driving skill as evaluated by a driving assessment.
- Understanding of safe working procedures and health and safety legislation relating to waste collection.
- Ability to find solutions to day to day operational problems including route finding, round design, breakdowns etc.
