Day-to-day of the role:
  • Assist the Buyer in sourcing and purchasing materials and services essential for production.
  • Support the negotiation and maintenance of supplier agreements to ensure cost-effectiveness and reliability.
  • Help monitor supplier performance and maintain accurate procurement records.
  • Collaborate with internal teams to align procurement activities with production needs and business operations.
  • Maintain detailed procurement documentation, including purchase orders and supplier files.
  • Track deliveries and address any delays or issues promptly to avoid impacting production schedules.
  • Contribute to inventory management and monitor stock levels to prevent shortages.
  • Support the implementation of strategic procurement plans and KPIs to enhance efficiency.
  • Ensure all purchasing activities comply with company policies and industry standards.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
  • Strong attention to detail and excellent organisational skills.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal abilities.
  • A proactive approach with a keen willingness to learn and adapt.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously and meet tight deadlines.
  • Basic understanding of procurement or supply chain processes is preferred.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel.
Desirable:
  • Previous experience in a purchasing or administrative role within a manufacturing or engineering environment is advantageous.
