Trainee Accountant position in a forward thinking, medium sized practices, with 3 different offices. They have one major focus, and that is helping clients be everything they want to be.

A highly qualified and experienced practice with a phenomenal track record of providing excellent support to clients.

They are looking for an ambitious individual ready to kickstart their accountancy career. A positive person with a willingness to learn, a graduate, or someone who is AAT Level 2/3 would be beneficial

Trainee Accountant Position Overview

Training and Development:

Participate in on-the-job training programs to develop technical skills in accounting, tax, and audit.

Learn accounting principles, regulations, and software applications under the guidance of experienced professionals.

Accounting Tasks:

Assist in the preparation of financial statements, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements.

Support the bookkeeping process, including recording financial transactions, reconciling accounts, and maintaining accurate records.

Tax Compliance:

Preparation of statutory and management accounts

Preparation of CT600's, VAT returns and personal tax returns

Liaising with HMRC

Client Support:

Working with a variety of clients including limited companies, sole traders, LLP's and partnerships from a range of business sectors

Reporting directly to the senior accountant regarding client matters

Professional Development:

Pursue relevant certifications or qualifications, such as ACCA or ACA, to further develop accounting skills and enhance career prospects.

Stay updated on industry trends, regulations, and best practices through self-study and participation in training programs.

Trainee Accountant Position Requirements
  • GCSC / A level school leavers with no experience who are looking to start their accountancy career.
  • AAT Level 2 / Level 3 qualified people with experience of working in a practice environment. Knowledge of accountancy software packages Iris and Xero would be beneficial.
