SF Recruitment are working with a global leader in automotive engineering in Coventy,  to recruit a Senior MP&L manager role. Overseeing a multi-site remit & teams within each busnienss unit ,  the role is a key role in shaping & developing the divisions material planning & logistics function. 

Key Responsibilities:

• Facilitate clear communication between MP&L teams and suppliers according to company protocols, ensuring accurate lead time information is relayed.

• Enhance MP&L processes to optimize the efficient and cost-effective movement of materials in and out of the facility.

• Spearhead annual cost reduction initiatives, focusing on freight, packaging, and indirect expenditures within MP&L.

• Take ownership of material inventory management, including cost oversight and ensuring document accuracy.

• Implement regular stock audits and promptly address any discrepancies or concerns.

• Collaborate with department managers to identify potential issues and opportunities for enhancement.

• Uphold Health & Safety standards and oversee corrective actions for any safety deficiencies identified during plant audits.

• Analyse inventory and delivery challenges, proposing effective solutions.

• Maintain the confidentiality of company information and adhere to customs regulations.

• Develop strategies and best practices to align staff efforts with overall business objectives, establishing measurable goals and tracking performance.

• Conduct routine performance evaluations and manage personnel matters such as attendance, leave, and disciplinary procedures.

• Monitor material costs, budget allocations, and expenses related to new programs.

• Generate internal management reports to monitor performance metrics across various areas including inventory, transportation, cost savings, production, and sales.

Skills:

• Proficiency in Lean Manufacturing principles.

• Strategic and innovative thinking with attention to detail.

• Extensive hands-on experience in materials or purchasing within manufacturing, particularly in automotive or related industries.

•SAP Experience desirable

• Strong interpersonal skills for effective communication with stakeholders at all levels.

• Ability to comprehend complex Bill of Materials (BOM).
