The Role:

Work closely with the Commercial Manager and support various teams including operations, precontract, and project delivery.
Ensure effective cost management, procurement, and compliance with contractual requirements for each project.
Produce robust, accurate, and timely cost and value reports.
Conduct quantity take-offs from drawings and prepare measurement submissions.
Assist in the preparation of contract documents and administer contract conditions.
Provide sound QS advice on cost planning, procurement, contracts, and cost control.
Aid in estimating and tendering of projects.
Maintain professional relationships with operations teams and provide excellent communication to clients.
Present and negotiate variations and valuations with clients.
Accurately forecast monthly finances and challenge resources and costs as necessary.
Ensure adherence to commercial and contractual procedures under the main contract and company standards.
Maintain commercial deadlines and foster positive client and project team relationships.
Stay updated on industry changes, legislation, and develop new skills to enhance value.
Support and promote the company brand, vision, and values.

Skills and Experience:

Bachelor's degree in Quantity Surveying or related construction field (HNC/HND considered).
1 year of relevant surveying or construction experience preferred.
Working towards or obtained MRICS status.
Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
Collaborative mindset towards construction projects.
Sound commercial awareness and proficiency in IT systems (including Office).
Ability to demonstrate knowledge of commercial reporting.
Excellent time management skills with the ability to meet tight deadlines.
Experience with NEC/JCT forms of Contract.
Clean driving license.
