Our client is a growing, UK & International, market-leading manufacturer requiring a Head of Procurement to join in a newly created role. You will be a dynamic Strategic Procurement leader with experience gained within fast-paced manufacturing operations, with a demonstrated track record of developing Procurement functions involving both direct (raw materials) and indirect spend categories.Key Responsibilities:
- Leadership and development of a small Procurement team
- Procurement of raw materials (including plastics and chemicals), finished product and indirect services
- Evaluate and select suppliers, management of large global suppliers, including Far East
- Implementation of Category Management structure
- Develop relationships with stakeholders across all functions and levels within the business
- Negotiation of new and existing contracts, ensuring cost-effective goods and services are provided at the required quality levels.
- Drive Best Practice Procurement culture throughout the business
Skills & Experience:
- Strong Business & Commercial Acumen
- Team Leadership and People Development
- Best practice Direct and Indirect Procurement professional able to inspire confidence, build relationships and significantly raise the profile of Procurement.
- Clear and concise communication style
- Collaborative Team Working
- Highly motivated and results driven, will makes things happen
- Negotiation skills
- A track record of delivering savings.
- Degree and/or MCIPS qualified
- Ability to travel within the UK and internationally
