MTrec’s prestigious precision engineering client, based in Cramlington, are looking to recruit a permanent Maintenance Fitter to their growing team. You will be responsible for the maintenance of all plant machinery as well as keeping the facilities in good working order. The Job You’ll Do;

  • Carry out repairs to all types of plant machinery and equipment in a safe, timely, and professional manner.
  • Reactive repairs to Press, CNC, and other machinery.
  • Carry out PPM schedules as necessary and planned work orders as required.
  • Operate maintenance forklift truck and elevated working platform as required.
  • Assist visiting specialist engineers when necessary.
  • Plan / prioritise workload to support production and ensure efficient use of working time.
  • Manufacture spare parts as required (simple bracketry gaskets etc..) using lathes, milling machines and welding equipment etc.
  • Typical example of work would be to respond to maintenance request for equipment fault, diagnose fault repair and return equipment to operational service. All work to be carried out operating in a safe and efficient manner. (A process of dynamic risk assessment is to be implemented and adhered to).
  • Identify spare requirements.
  • Assist with moving, installation, repositioning of machines and equipment.

About You;

  • Hydraulic / Pneumatic experience beneficial.
  • Mechanical/Electrical based apprenticeship with City & Guilds or equivalent qualifications
  • Experience working with both PLC and Fanuc control systems would be desirable.
  • Experience with 3 phase motors and Conveyors desirable.
  • Basic Welding experience beneficial.
  • The successful candidate must have the ability to work on their own and also be a fully integrated member of a team.
