Job Title: Children's Social Worker - 14 Plus Leaving Care Team

Salary: £20 - £26 per hour

We're on the lookout for a dedicated and compassionate social worker to join the 14 Plus Leaving Care Team within Northumberland's Adolescent Services. This role offers an exciting opportunity for someone eager to specialise in Adolescent Social Work and make a real difference in the lives of children and young people. You'll be part of a supportive and dynamic team environment, where your passion and expertise will be valued and put to meaningful use.

Responsibilities:

  • Work within the 14 Plus Leaving Care Team, supporting adolescent young people transitioning from care to independent living.
  • Carry a complex mixed caseload of children in various circumstances
  • Assess children and families, developing plans to address identified needs.
  • Assess and manage risk using evidence-based approaches.
  • Work directly with children, young people, and families during crises, ensuring child welfare is prioritised.
  • Collaborate with colleagues, families, and external organisations to develop and implement effective intervention plans.
  • Understand and apply locally agreed thresholds for intervention, adjusting case management as needed.

A Strong Candidate Will Have:

  • At least 2 years of Social work front-line experience
  • Demonstrated commitment to providing high-quality practice and improving outcomes for young people.
  • Passion for working with young people and making a positive difference in their lives.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and adapt to changing needs.
  • Full driving licence (due to the large rural area covered by the service).

Qualifications and requirements:

  • Registered with Social work England
  • A Degree in Social work or Diploma in SW, CQSW, CSS
  • Right to Work
  • Enhanced DBS check, dated within the last 12 months
  • Previous experience working in child protection services
