Vocational Teacher Required

Snowfields Academy (Cranbrook College)

September 2024 start, Permanent role

The Supply Register is currently working in partnership with Snowfields Academy to find a Vocational Teacher to join their team from September 2024. Based at Cranbrook College, the ideal candidate will have experience of working with SEN learners, ideally with a diagnosis of autism. They may be an experienced primary teacher who would like to gain more experience with lower attaining students who are working 3-4 years below age expected attainment levels and have complex needs as part of their autism diagnosis. Experience in delivering Food Technology, Life Skills or Land based Skills would be advantageous.

You will provide outstanding educational opportunities for all of your pupils in order to ensure every student reaches their full potential. We are looking for outstanding practitioners who are creative and imaginative teachers with the ability to plan highly effective learning opportunities that meet the needs of all students. Excellent classroom management skills and high expectations of all pupils are essential as well as a comprehensive knowledge of the curriculum and new assessment framework.

Responsibilities

  • Set high expectations which inspire, motivate and challenge pupils
  • Promote good progress and outcomes by pupils
  • Demonstrate good subject and curriculum knowledge
  • Plan and teach well structured lessons
  • Adapt teaching to respond to the strengths and needs of all pupils
  • Make accurate and productive use of assessment
  • Manage behaviour effectively to ensure a good and safe learning environment
  • Fulfil wider professional responsibilities

 

Requirements

  • Must be a qualified Teacher with QTS
  • Experience in an SEN setting or with SEN pupils in a mainstream setting would be ideal
  • Must have the Right to Work in the UK
  • Must hold an Enhanced DBS or be willing to apply for one
  • Must be able to provide a minimum of 2 years’ worth of professional references
