Our client is a leading engineering company that provides engineering services to the Rail, Transport and Commercial Vehicle sectors.
They are currently seeking a Mechanical Fitter to join their team in Croydon.


The Role:
Overhaul of mechanical equipment within a workshop environment
Mechanical fitting, assembly, strip, survey, and test
Read drawings, identify components, assemble and/or repair mechanical equipment.
Maintain good quality and efficiency.
Flexibility of skills to carry out testing, basic wiring, and mechanical fitting.
Maintain good housekeeping, awareness of and adherence to health and safety requirements.
Ability to complete technical documentation as work is progresses.
To perform other duties as assigned from time to time.


The Candidate:
Minimum five years mechanical fitting required, preferably for rotating equipment (We need experienced applicants from an engineering workshop environment)
Ability to work to strict quality guidelines within ISO9001 and RISAS
Preferably time-served apprentice trained, but must have relevant qualifications i.e., mechanical engineering.
A working knowledge of safety systems such as Risk Assessments and COSHH Assessments will be advantageous.
Experience of Lean Manufacturing principals such as 5s and knowledge of the 7 wastes would be beneficial, but not crucial.
Ability and willingness to learn new skills.
A flexible approach to meet customer demands.
