Mechanical Fitter

Westwood Recruitment are on the lookout for an experienced Mechanical Fitter to join our world-renowned client in Croydon asap on a permanent basis. The successful applicant will be an outgoing and hardworking team player. The applicant must be a self-starter and be able and willing to improve their working area with a view to increase efficiency.

Duties & Responsibilities

• Overhaul of cooler groups, transmissions, couplers and engine rafts based primarily in the workshop. 
• Mechanical fitting, assembly, strip, survey and test
• To accurately read drawings, identify components, assemble and/or repair mechanical equipment
• Have flexibility of skills to carry out testing, basic wiring and mechanical fitting
• Maintain good housekeeping, awareness of and adherence to health and safety requirements set by the company
• Have the ability to complete technical documentation as work progresses
• Work to guidelines within ISO9001 and RISAS

Requirements

• At least five years mechanical fitting experience, preferably for rotating equipment (ideally from an engineering/manufacturing workshop environment)
• Be preferably a time-served apprentice, or other relevant qualifications if not (Mechanical Engineering or similar)
• Have working knowledge & experience of Lean Manufacturing principals such as 5s and knowledge of the 7 wastes would be beneficial, but not essential

New Employees must pass a Drugs and Alcohol related Medical upon starting & accepting the role within the Company.

 Package Details:-

• 36.5 working week; 07:00 – 15:00 Mon – Thurs and Fri 07:00 13:30
• £28k – £34k (dependent on experience)
