Prospero Teaching are currently on the lookout for an experienced Nurture Teacher to join SEMH schools, alternative provisions, and PRUs (Pupil Referral Units) in South London.

Required: Nurture Teacher

Daily rate: 140 - 240 depending on QTS and experience

Full Time, 5 days per week

Immediate trials

South London, Mitcham, Croydon and surrounding areas

Temporary to permanent position

About the Role:

As a Nurture Teacher, you will play a vital role in providing tailored support to students with SEMH needs. Your responsibilities will include creating a nurturing and supportive learning environment, developing individualised intervention plans, and delivering targeted support to help students overcome barriers to learning.

Supporting SEMH Pupils:

SEMH pupils require understanding, empathy, and a nurturing approach. Key ways to support SEMH pupils include:

  1. Creating a safe and nurturing environment where students feel valued and supported.
  2. Implementing personalised strategies to help students regulate their emotions and develop positive coping mechanisms.
  3. Building strong relationships with students based on trust and mutual respect.
  4. Collaborating with colleagues and external professionals to provide holistic support to students.

Requirements:

To be considered for this role, candidates must meet the following requirements:

  1. Have previous experience working with SEMH students in a similar setting.
  2. Possess relevant qualifications in education or psychology.
  3. Hold a valid DBS certificate registered on the Update Service.
  4. Have the right to work in the UK.
  5. Demonstrate a passion for working with vulnerable young people and a commitment to their well-being and academic success.
