The post holder, working in partnership with other relevant services, will provide a client centred, evidence-based, non-judgemental and recovery orientated service aimed at supporting, advising and helping young people and adults, affected by a range of problem substance use issues to reduce, control and cease that use. The core function of this role is the delivery of positive safety and well-being outcomes for children and families who are affected by substance misuse.

  • Providing support, information, and advice to individuals in relation to substance misuse as appropriate.
  • Comprehensive substance misuse screenings and assessments of young people
  • Providing screening, assessment, psychosocial interventions, integrated care planning, post treatment support, including transfer of care.
  • Collation, analysis and data entry recording of Youth Justice substance misuse stats on to varying systems
  • Deliver 1 to 1 key working and group work sessions
  • To use and assess Gillick Competency (in line with Fraser Guidelines) for young people under the age of 16
