JR: General ManagerLocation: Uffculme, DevonSalary: Competitive Overview:First Military Recruitment are currently seeking a General Manager on behalf of one of our clients.Our client encourages applications from ex-military personnel however all candidates will be given due consideration.Duties and Responsibilities:
- Overall management of company operations & teams.
- Work with Associate Directors to ensure all jobs are planned and resourced correctly.
- Create and implement new operational procedures as well as mentor and develop operational team to greatly improve operational and client experience.
- Manage and monitor relevant areas of company spend through monthly P&L
- General oversee of day-to-day operations including management of teams on site, to include line management of the mechanical engineering team.
- Undertake ad-hoc site audits on projects being undertaken nationally.
- Fleet Management, including management of insurance, and tachographs.
- Approve all job specific HSE paperwork prior to being released to client and operational teams.
- Advises management and assists with the implementation of new or existing SHEQ-related
- legislation, rules and company standards, to include fire prevention, health and safety awareness training, site inspections of the workplace.
- Maintenance of ISO9001/ISO14001/ISO45001 certfications.
- Review and maintain all aspects of the Health, Safety, Environmental and Quality Policies ensuring that it is implemented consistently across the workplace. Advising senior management team of risk and opportunities.
- Maintain the accident and incident database, investigate accidents, and ensure all corrective actions are implemented and documentation is updated.
- Receives and reviews all customer complaints, develop corrective action plans, and ensure timely resolution of findings with relevant interested parties.
Skills and Qualifications:
- Proven experience as General Manager/Operations / SHEQ Manager or similar role.
- Previous experience of managing Environment, Health and Safety function, ideally within
- hazardous areas, engineering and construction environment.
- A history of implementing change in an organisation with a tenacity to succeed.
- Evidence of previously introducing a sustainable improvement programme for Environment Health and Safety.
- Organisational and leadership abilities.
- Self-motivated with a result driven approach.
- I.T. literate with a good working knowledge of the full MS office suite.
- NEBOSH qualification desirable.
