Join our client as a Young People Support Worker and make a real difference in the lives of individuals. As a leading local charity committed to creating a safe and nurturing environment, we are seeking a dedicated support worker to guide young people towards independent living and personal development.In this temporary role, you will play a pivotal part in preparing and mentoring young individuals residing in temporary accommodation in Cullompton, offering vital advice on independent living, tenancy management, personal finances, and domestic/life skills.Working closely with a dynamic team, you will establish professional and respectful relationships, provide access to essential community resources, and lead engaging sessions to support positive engagement and progression.
  • Support young people in preparing for independent living and personal development.
  • Build professional and trusting relationships in a safe and secure environment.
  • Contribute to assessments of need and support residents in taking ownership of their progression.
Join our team if you have experience in building positive relationships, understanding the challenges faced by homeless young people, excellent organizational skills, and a flexible, solution-focused mindset. Your ability to maintain clear records and communicate effectively will be crucial in this role.Preferred Requirements:
  • Demonstrated experience in building positive and professional relationships.
  • Understanding of the issues experienced by homeless young people.
  • Excellent organizational and administrative skills
  • Great communication and interpersonal skills
  • Flexible attitude and willingness to adapt to new pressures.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Relevant qualifications in youth work, social care, or related fields
  • Experience working with diverse groups and communities.
  • Familiarity with trauma-informed care and support
